Hi, it's Monday morning and it's a public holiday here today, so we slept in! Crikey, it was 8am before we woke up which is really good considering the lack of sleep the night before!
I had to laugh at myself well and truly the other day. I was weeding in the main perennial bed and this gave me an opportunity to have a really close look at a MAGNIFICENT specimen that had been flowering for a few weeks. I noticed it ages ago and remember thinking ''what a gorgeous queen anne's lace plant'', giggle! Yes, you guessed it, it was a giant example of a wild carrot (i.e. WEED!). Here's the photo:
I didn't crop this picture because I am not looking my best hair or face-wise, giggle! It's my gardening garb. I love the view down towards the gate that leads into the paddock. We got married just in front of that gate and I've always loved farmgates.
Yesterday John cleared out the kitchen and removed our pot holder thingo from the wall so tomorrow I will be painting the kitchen the same colour as the living room (weather permitting). We had a real shower of rain this morning for the first time in weeks which was just lovely but it looks as though it is going to clear now.
Today I'm going to continue weeding the perennial garden - which I've almost finished thank goodness. I desperately need to carry on weeding in the kitchen garden and the garden around the roundabout is a nightmare with seed-heads etc everywhere. At least I'll be able to collect oodles of seed to throw around. I'd best get started! Big smiles....
