Hi, giggle, yes I have an absolute load of damson plums that I need to do something with! I made damson jam two years ago (our damson didn't crop last year as they tend to do it biennially) and we still haven't finished it because we don't really eat a lot of jam. This year I'm thinking I'll make damson jelly although I'm not sure how tasty it will be. I will follow a basic recipe for jelly and reduce the amount of water I put in when I cook them I think. I have enough on the tree to make a couple of lots of jam too probably but I think I will freeze some to deal with later.
I'm feeling a bit ''flat'' today and slightly fed up if I'm being truly honest. Life seems to be way too complicated in this household right now (re pets and upcoming trip) and it is exhausting me and draining my bright spirit. I am determined to bounce back quickly and just get on with things - there is SO much to do around here before we go away in April, including writing a big list for our house-sitters.
I'm not going to mention Chester today except to say that he had a very upset tummy last night (rear-end), poor thing, caused by the anaesthetic (we looked up it's side effects this morning). I don't have it in me right now, to say more.
I'm just going to pop out and take a photograph of the damsons for you, oh and a beautiful! dahlia. I'll be right back...
I love the smoky blue hue these plums have. Here's a close-up.
This dahlia is right at the very end of the oak garden in the most icky position really. Isn't she beautiful! I think I will move her this coming season as she deserves a much better spot.
Yay these photos are food for my soul. I'm going to put the kettle on for a much needed cup of tea. Hugs to all wherever you are with a big smile attached!
