Hi there, it's Sunday afternoon and we're just home after around a 2 hour drive. I posted an update (or tried to) yesterday using John's iPad but when I pressed post the blasted thing disappeared! Aaagghhh. So I decided to wait until I got home today.
Yesterday went really well although I have to say daunting long table of baked goods was extremely daunting! There were at least 30 different types of cakes, plus breads, biscuits, muffins, bread rolls, slices and more. By the time I was halfway down the table I had to get John to taste things too because I was starting to feel a bit yuk because I don't ''do'' sweet things in the morning. All in all it was fun! I am a bit concerned I've put a few local noses out of joint though, just because I judged very honestly. Jody (the woman who asked me to be a judge and who we stayed with) has already had a couple of people asky ''why didn't she like my...??". Crikey, I so hope Jody doesn't get hassled because of my decisions, she's such a lovely woman. Ah well I could only go for the ones I honestly felt were the best.
We drove home with a couple of stops for me to go rock hunting down by rivers. We had one heck of a job finding places to get down to them which was a bit frustrating for me (John was sooo patient!) but I finally managed to get a couple of interesting rocks for my collection. I'll tell you more about the place we were, Murchison, in my post tomorrow. I also have some great photos to share with you.
I'd better get outside and start watering like mad - the one downside of going away for 2 days. John has gone to the kennels to get Chester. Smiles..
